All About the Christmas Good Eats (& 2 Giveaway Recipes Available)!

I love this time of year – not necessarily because of the decorating (although that is fun, too), but because of the “nummy-nummies” we get to make and eat give to others.

This year’s Catholic Women of the Chapel group is hosting an “Advent Angel” program, which is essentially a spiritually-based Secret Santa.  During the weeks of Advent, we are asked to pray for our designated prayer sister, and to let our spiritual sister know they are in our prayers.  Not wanting my designated recipient of prayers to feel left-out by just an occasional card, the young lady to whom I’ve been assigned has been the recipient of my first baked goods for the Advent season!

The fudge is something I make annually, and is most fun when little hands help; some Christmas music playing in the background is a must!  I’ve tried to make the fudge without the music, and it just never quite tastes right…  This “5 Minute Fudge” recipe is also a quick, easy treat for mamas on the go, who don’t have time to spend slaving over the stove; it’s also great for a treat to throw together, if you forget until Saturday afternoon that you have a treat to take somewhere for a Sunday afternoon function – just open up your pantry and get what you need!

I also tried peppermint bark for the second time in my life, using the same melting method of the chocolate chips that I use for the fudge – no double boiler (whatever that is, Paula Deen) for me!

I’m linking up today with the other bloggers of The Zelie Group to bring a couple holiday recipes to the table.  In the spirit of the holiday season, we have all banded together to produce a recipe booklet – but, the catch is, you have to visit us individually in order to collect everyone’s recipes!  If you would like my fudge and cookie recipes, please download them right here!

The two recipes I am sharing via this giveaway are:

5 Minute Fudge

Grandma’s Orange Christmas Cookies

Both recipes are annual Christmas baking traditions in our family.  And, be sure to check out the other bloggers’ contribution to this recipe giveaway, for a chance to expand your recipe collection!
